Import your ezboard theme (tdf) (updated) |

If you have opened a ticket to import your ezboard to Yuku then you don't have to worry about converting your theme, when your board imports your forum
themes are automatically converted using this same converter and applied to the correct forum. If you don't want to wait to convert your themes or just see
what your board theme will look like on Yuku before you import then you can still use the converter on a test board.

I have some nervous administrators and moderators, I'm trying to reassure.

I exported the Ezboard tdf for one of my Gold Ezboards and applied it to an unused migrated Yuku board I own, but the result was pretty terrible. The sidebar was in the middle on top of the main forum instead of on the side and the custom header was far too wide. Obviously something in my HTML is causing the problem - probably the table layout I used in the original Ezboard. All the colours are fine, the background and images are OK (only missing one or two) but the board layout is all wrong. I was hoping to get my test Yuku board looking as similar to my existing Ezboard as possible then save the skin so I have a backup when I request migration. Then, at least if it all goes 'pear shaped' I'll have a reserve already prepared. Kay |

The original post was made quite a while back when the importer tool was still being fine-tuned. I have worked on imports on occasion myself, and I can
guarantee you that the importer tool for skins is quite amazing. I have seen boards with very elaborate designs come across flawlessly. I also know that two of
the very best designers at Yuku are helping with manually correcting any discrepancies during the actual import. They make sure that all your sidebars,
headers, footers, images and colours come across in excellent condition even if there is something incompatible with the importer. Scripts are re-added
manually if necessary.
Your ezboard will import with all privacy settings and member permissions in place. It will have all the customization (banners, buttons and and backgrounds) in place. Your emoticons and posticons will transfer and be applied the way you had them. The only icons that do not transfer (which are not available at Yuku), are the personal icons that show up behind a person's username in the topics list. My personal opinion: while the tdf does a great job, the importer tool is much more impressive. |
