My avatar has stopped showing up. Whne I go to my albums only one thumbnail is showing and when i try to use that avatar it doesn't show up either.
Also in my image gallery I can't see thumbnails anymore either.... Is this just a glitch? Or is there something I need to do to fix it? |

This is a glitch that is being reported all over yuku - where avatars and any other images that are hosted at Yuku are suddenly no longer showing. This
doesn't appear to be a fatal error though, because they are appearing again for some, disappearing still for others, etc. So let's give it a bit of
time to see how this resolves.

ok, thanks after I posted I noticed a couple other peoples avs gone so i figured it wasn't just me.

It's still happening! My sister's - http://jarca1.u.yuku.com/ - ( http://images.yuku.com/image/png/56225ce545761145cd5f5e4b53977073b03df45_t.jpg ) seems to be particularly prone to disappearing Is it possible to use personal URL's ( http://www.micahwave.com/templework/jarca/Jarca.gif ) for Avatars like we do for other graphics??? thanks

yes, any external host will work for other graphics,,,and i assume for the avatar as well....just lots of cutting and pasting urls

W e l l . . . 
"Support" is going to put a lock on my Admin powers that automatically shuts me down after a certain number of hours 
(because I become so tired I am blind to the obvious!) 
sigh part of the problem had to making sure that this little box is check-marked -   
things seem to be showing up properly now 
Two (2) things that would be REALLY nice though... 
1 - It would nice to be able to use your own URL's for Avatars too and 2 - someone needs to write a "YUKU for Dummies" !!! 
that explains EVERYTHING step-by-step WITH pictures !!! |

It's not possible to link an avatar to an offsite location. Only images that are loaded into the avatar folder will work.
You *can* use css to change it on a board, but if you're doing it for a whole board, that's a lot of work. You'd have to hide each particular person's regular avatar, then give the now empty area a height and width, then give it a background image, and of course it only works at one particular board, not at every board. So there wouldn't be a general code that works for everyone, it'd be individual code for each board member who wants a different image. So basically it's just as easy to upload that image to the Yuku folders right now. OH!
-I've tried so many tutorials that assumed I had a whole lot more knowledge to start with - they were useless to a beginner...- BUT ChrisW's IS wonderful!!! (I don't know how I missed it - I really thought I had looked through most the support forums) It just needs to be "renamed" so we "Dummies" can
recognize that it is for US!
(Maybe a RED title to catch our attention OR arrows "THIS IS THE ONE"  )
Thank you - again - for all your help and I'll make sure to direct all my board members in that direction! |

Can you link me where its not showing? And is it not showing for "just you" or everyone from "that community". The reason I ask is that its possible to turn off Avatars board wide. Zoe |
