Posts: 3367 30 Nov, 2006 14:48 Goddess of Mischief fits into the bottle now	Tags : skin, css, theme, ezdesign, design OK guys, ezdesign is FINALLY migrated over correctly and it's time to work out a game plan for it. We need to decide who wants to moderate which forums, what forums should we keep, and which should we archive, and talk about how we're going to offer skins. We are speccing up a sharing feature that I want your feedback on. So post here and let me know that you're here and i'll make up a special private forum for us to chat in, and plot world domination! Posts: 109 1 Dec, 2006 15:05	I am here. Also just started setting up my theme board (skin board) community. Coupla Questions: Images stored in our folders: How to apply those to the themes? Example: I create a folder called, "xyz skin" and put all my images there. How do I apply that to the WYSIWYG and the custom css for the editor? How to modify my .htaccess file. I know I have a ton of themes/skins I am going to add over time, and I doubt that the folders here on YUKU will hold everything. So, I am leery of putting images with the full pathway to the URL to my webhost since I don't want hotlinking. I just tried to modify that .htaccess file to include my themes/skins account, and I went over to test it on my gardening community, and guess what? With firewall off to verify that the hotlinking script was or wasn't working, it showed the image, free and clear of my anti-hotlinking banner. So, it isn't working with YUKU. Somehow, I have to figure that one out. Also: Mosied on over to ezdesign, and can't reply to older topics. Get that topic not found announcement. I can't find you on the member list at ezdesign, and I can't manually add you either it errors and says you are already a member! I don't think it's an import problem because Mish had this happen to her.

administrator resident expert Posts: 1718 1 Dec, 2006 17:01 Fresh and Minty testicles	Well Ali and Mish figured out that an empty power level/group will cause the user to not appear and any lead posts by that user will 404, so just save the group with a power level. But, your moderator power level hasn't been imported at all, so it can't be changed! The ezdesigner ranks are completely missing. You, Fava, Tang, Ness are all in limbo!

To use a yuku hosted image in the wysiwyg or custom images pages, just click on the little image icon next to the field and select the image from your folders. You can get the url to use by going to images on the top nav menu and selecting the absolute image location. We're not sure how skin sharing and hosted images is going to work yet. In your htaccess where you currently have your RewriteCond statements, add two more for your profile and your board RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://the-garden-gal.u.yuku.com/.$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://gardeningnow.yuku.com/.$ [NC] Basically it is the url you want to use with slashes before the dots.

Posts: 3367 1 Dec, 2006 19:21 Goddess of Mischief fits into the bottle now	it seems to be definitely user level related. I think Ransom has worked up a fix already for further migrations. The good news is that when you userlevel is repaired, the topics that give 404's will magically appear again (they shouldn't disappear in the first place though) This is why the manual migrations are going slowly, we have to stop and fix stuff like this before continuing!

I am always busy around the 30th to the 1st, lol....so now I am just trying to catch up reading the posts! Not sure if offering my services is wise though, considering the only reason that I am always busy on those days is because I procrastinate on the other ones :D!

I can access every forum, but some I cannot post in, or I can, but I can't see my posts. That bites.So, if alison dis-moderated us at the old ezboard, can she re-moderate us on ezdesign anew? Just a thought.

Posts: 109 1 Dec, 2006 22:18	Already getting my theme/skins forums together. The .htaccess file is going to be a lifesaver! And, I am working a way to get people to "plug in" the themes via css rather than messing with the WYSIWG. They can do that on their own if they choose to tweak it up later. I think by just giving them the header, footer, and css main codes, it will work better.

There isn't a moderator option on any board at the moment, or at least I haven't been able to find one! Oh and we are coming up with a way to share skins, so you won't have to zip up skins, there will be a way to copy to/from boards or your personal library (hint hint) directly. I was going to suggest a board which would just act as a repository of skins and previews called themes.yuku.com but they are skins not themes, and that name is already taken! Posts: 109 1 Dec, 2006 23:31	I like contributing to the effort at ezdesign, don't get me wrong. But, I also like the autonomy of having my own place to make and share my skins. I don't know if I worded that correctly, but I really enjoy doing both. I think many of us who made message board themes (now skins) feel the same way. OH! Thank you ever so much for freeing me from the dreaded 404 Error report!

Tox is much better at it... I tend to rip them to pieces... hmm... I will think about what I would be best at moderating. (oh, and if we are talking world domination - dibs on Argentina!)

Can you access the designers circle forum fava? I think I'll archive the old files from that the mod forum, then open it up to be private (MBA) but not invisible, and use that for our new circle of friends, Redau and Arizona both being welcome. Anyone who wants to come and knock by applying I can let in.
