Since the server "crash" this weekend, support, ezdesign and skins no longer have working searches. So does anyone have a board on which search still
works??

So was it not so much a crash, as an attempt to fix the search problems which didn't work?

Scattered posts around Support suggest it was a broken switch that was reset and then tachu replaced it with about a minute's downtime.
Don't ask me to find them, search doesn't work and Google ain't helping this time. |

Maybe it was the on/off switch?
From the announcements forum: We apologise for the downtime on Friday and Sunday. I wasn't really online over the weekend, so I never noticed any downtime anyway, but there obviously was some. |

I have, but I've not seen a topic that talks about the problems that they had this past weekend being responsible for search on ALL boards now being
totally broken. So are there any boards where search works at all? I've not found a single one. And I know that prior to this weekend search on support and
search on this board worked. I've just hopped around a dozen boards that I could think of and checked.

I know it went down late Sunday evenving just as I was signing off for the night but I didn't know
about the other down time over the weekend.
I'm not having any problems with it being slow here today ... knock on wood. So far it still beat MSN hands down!! |

My home board's search has been working since someone (Chris?) gave it a good kick a few months ago, and I'm sure I used the search function over the
weekend, too. Just checking and it's working today, sweet mate.
The forum search tags, on the other hand... Well, they're still as erratic as ever.

It's probably server related. The http://kingsforum.nhl.com/ search works, so do the KA/Yuku boards like http://community.u2.com/directory and http://community.iamaranger.com/directory

search on http://community.parenthood.com still works too - it takes ages to load too! It's top heavy and
very messy.
"works" is a relative term of course. Kingsforum is on fl1-4/cbd3@111032, and skins is on fl1-4/cbd3@220. Is that the same server? Since they changed the whole cbd thingy I am never sure of what a server is and isn't. |

I find that a lot of pages on Yuku take an age to load, often the only way I can get them to load is by using webdev to disable javascript and then refresh. I
don't know if it's a Firefox thing or Yuku, but it only happens here

When I had a lot of difficulty accessing yuku a couple of weeks ago, I used IE to get my PMs and do account stuff. Get white flashes in between pages but it worked slowly where FF didn't at all. So, it could well be a JS/FF issue. </asside> |
